Who it's for

Made for grades 5–8, at home or in class

Homeschool

A full year, already sequenced

Secular, U.S.-focused, and self-contained. The study plan sets the pace; the answer keys make grading a five-minute job. Works for one student or several.

Supplementing school

Practice that matches what they're learning

Middle-school social studies covers exactly these three subjects. Use one book alongside the school year, or the whole set over a summer and a semester.

Classrooms & co-ops

Consistent structure, minimal prep

Every chapter runs the same way, so students work independently. Print sets are classroom-ready, and the digital set includes a single-classroom license for one teacher. Schools, districts, and co-ops with several classrooms can ask us about a group license.

Frequently asked questions

What grades is this set for?

Grades 5–8 (roughly ages 10–14). The readings are written at a middle-school level, and the activities scale: a fifth grader may need the reading done together and the Write pages kept short, while an eighth grader can work independently and be pushed on the writing and source-analysis pages.

Is this a complete social studies curriculum?

It's a structured year of U.S.-focused social studies: government and civics, U.S. geography and map skills, and U.S. history from before 1492 to 2020. It does not include world history or world geography. Many families use it as the spine of a middle-school year and add a world unit or literature alongside it.

Is it secular?

Yes. The books are secular, non-partisan, and written to present the evidence and let students think it through. Primary sources are quoted with context.

Are answer keys included?

Yes — every book has a complete answer key in the back covering every activity, quiz, and final review, in every format.

How does the 36-Week Study Plan work?

It's a printer-friendly PDF that sequences the four books (Geography → Civics → History Vol. 1 → History Vol. 2), gives you a weekly assignment with page numbers, a discussion question, and check boxes, includes parent notes on guiding the work and fitting it to grades 5–6 or 7–8, and explains how to use the chapter quizzes and final reviews for grades. It's included as a download with all three formats.

What's the difference between the formats?

Same four books, same content. The digital set is printable PDFs you download immediately. Paperback is softcover. Spiral-bound lays flat, which makes map labeling and writing easier. Print sets ship free in the U.S.

What does the digital license allow?

One household or one classroom. The PDF set is licensed for use by a single family in their own home, or by a single teacher with the students in their own classroom, and you may print as many copies as you need for those students. The files may not be shared with other teachers or families, resold, posted online, or distributed through a school, district, co-op, or organization. Schools, districts, co-ops, libraries, and tutoring programs can contact us for a group license.

Can I print the PDFs at home?

Yes. Printing is not restricted. The files are standard 8.5 × 11 in. pages. Civics and both History books print well in black and white; the Geography book is designed in full color, so print its map pages in color if you can.

Can I buy the books separately?

Yes — each workbook is also sold individually: Geography & Map Skills, Government & Civics, U.S. History: Beginnings Through Reconstruction, and U.S. History: 1877 Through Modern America. The set saves you money compared with buying all four, and it's the only way to get the 36-Week Study Plan.

What is your return policy?

Paperback and spiral-bound sets follow our standard return policy. Because the digital set is a download, it can't be returned once the files have been accessed — but if anything won't download, open, or print, contact us and we'll make it right.
